About
The Company was founded in 1963, by Geoff Davies who bought his first tipper wagon, delivering mainly sand and gravel. After trying many types of tipper work Geoff decided to purchase a lime spreader which saw him diversify into agricultural contracting, providing a service of sowing, lime spreading and hedge cutting etc.
During the early 70’s Geoff with the support of his wife Sheila branched out into bulk blowing animal feed deliveries, which led to a very successful growth within the company until the mid 1990’s when the agricultural industry began to decline. Geoff and the family made the decision to move the business into other areas. They decided to build a Warehouse providing Chilled and Ambient Storage.
This has now grown to include Storage, Cheese Reclamation, Packing & Labelling. In September 2010, Geoff and Sheila decided to step back from the running of the business. The Company is now run by their son Adrian and his wife Polly.
Chilled Storage
G S Davies & Son are located within easy access of Junction 16 of the M6.
We can store up to 5000 Chilled pallets and 1500 Ambient Pallets at any one time. Our dedicated team of experienced Warehouse Operatives ensure that your product is completely taken care of. They make sure that correct numbers are kept with every scheduled delivery and carefully monitor the stock levels at all times. You are kept up to date of any Receipts and Despatches with our fully automated email system, including weekly Stock Reports.
Our Store is carefully monitored by our own on-site HSE/QA personnel and is also fully BRC Accredited to ensure you of the best service at all times.
Cheese Reclamation
G S Davies & Son have developed the cheese reclamation/packing service over the last few years by listening to the needs of their customers.
Cheese is cleaned, packed & labelled to the customer’s requirements, all in a BRC Accredited protective atmosphere for onward delivery.
Distribution
We provide a collection and delivery service for the North West/ Midlands of England and North Wales.
Our specialised fleet of temperature controlled vehicles consists of 44 tonne articulated vehicles, 26 tonne rigid vehicle and 7.5 tonne rigid vehicle to ensure that we are able to provide all sizes of deliveries that our customers require.
They are manned by our trained delivery personnel, who understand how to provide excellent customer service. G S Davies & Son’s delivery team ensure that your chilled goods are maintained at the right temperature throughout the entire process, from collection to final delivery.
